Alexander Dubček was born in November 27, 1921 in Uhrovec. Already in his young days, he was engaged in illegal anti-fascist activities and fought in the Slovak National Uprising. From 1949, he devoted his professional carrier to public and political work. From January 1968, under his leadership, the liberalization process dubbed Czech and Slovak Spring—an effort at democratization of the society—began that gained great approval and affection on the whole world.
