Brown Bear (Ursus arctos L.) The largest European carnivore. It originally inhabited almost the whole Europe, northern and central Asia; currently it occurs in Scandinavia and in eastern part of Europe, though some isolated populations also live in the Pyrenees Mountains, Abruzzi region, Balkan, and in the Carpathian Mountains.
