Imrich Weiner-Kráľ (1901—1978) was painter and graphic artist. He studied architecture at the Technical High School in Brno, painting at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, and at art academes in Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Paris from 1919 to 1924. He stayed for sojourns at universities in Paris, Berlin, and at Bauhaus in Dessau from 1930 to 1932. After return from abroad, he lived in Bratislava from 1932 to 1939. Imrich Weiner-Kraľ forced the way of surrealistic tendencies in specific modification and original poetics on the borderline of dream and reality, without applying the method of automatism.
