Carp (the wild Danubian form - sazan) occurs in tributaries of the Mediterranean, Black, Caspian, and Aral Seas. It inhabits slighlty - to - medium flowing rivers in Slovak it occured in the rivers Danube and Tisa and also in the lower parts of their larger tributaries. Thanks to Ancient Romans, who started to grow carps in special ponds, the Danubian carps spread to new aquatoriums.
