International Day Without Tobacco 31st May, designated International Day Without Tobacco by the World Health Organisation, provides the occasion for the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Public Works to issue a postage stamp on an anti-smoking theme. Its aim is to alert smokers, but especially the young and parents and teachers to the harmful effects of smoking. We hope that the issuing of this stamp - at the suggestion of the National Oncological Institute in Bratislava - will lend support to the worthy aims of the international fight against smoking and foster increased interest in health in general among all generations...
